March 17th is the day when Benidorm turns green. St Patrick´s day is not an official holiday in Spain, but the many Irish and British tourists traveling to Benidorm in that period create their own festivities.

There are no big organized parades and parties but there is generally more daytime entertainment at the Irish and British bars, usually, with a let's get green fancy dress outfit. In the bars, the party goes on till late at night.
