Ayuntamiento de Benidorm

Benidorm is the most popular tourist attraction in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona. For that reason, such a city needs an attractive and impressive Ayuntamiento or town hall. The town hall of Benidorm is like a gate above the entrance of the Parque de L’Aiguera. It seems that, at some points, the beautiful modern building floats above the ground.

The building is therefore also known as the Rascasuelos which literally means the Floor Scraper. The building serves as a bridge and transition zone and forms, as it were, the gateway to the L'Aigüera park. It has an excellent part where pedestrians can walk under it on their way to the park.

A noteworthy fact is that the building's large glass windows are covered with thick slats bearing the names and surnames of the city's 60,000 residents in the year construction was completed, that was in 2003.
