A Mountain with the hole in it

Anyone who has ever visited Benidorm has already seen it. That impressive mountain on the west side of Benidorm, which threatens to protrude above the village of Finestrat. The mountain with the hole in it.

There are several legends about that hole: One version of the legend is related to a similar hole in the Pyrenees, La Brèche de Roland of Roland's sword stroke. Roland, commander of Charlemagne's army, is said to have conducted a sword fight with the captain of the Moorish army.

Fighting they reached the top, where Roland knocked his opponent to the ground. When Roland wanted to give his opponent the final blow, however, he missed and hit a piece out of the rock, which fell into the sea due to the enormous blow and thus formed the Peacock Island of Benidorm.
