Benidorm Resort initiative

Like other tourist places, Benidorm is also suffering from the coronavirus pandemic. That is why new initiatives are started to stimulate tourism to the as yet corona-safe Costa Blanca. In Benidorm, apartment landlords and the catering industry have joined forces to set up the "Benidorm Resort" initiative.

The catering associations ABRECA and COBRECA, together with the accommodation providers Inmobiliaria Rosemberg and Apartments Nicaragua, offer an apartment and meals in the affiliated bars from 205 euros per person for 6 nights.

It is their joint response to the crisis in tourism that has arisen as a result of the pandemic. There are four different offers on the website. Furthermore, there are also offers on their website for groups starting from 2 people.

But it can be even cheaper! If you are already officially resident in the Valencia region and use the tourist checks of the autonomous region. Then you can get a 70% discount up to a maximum of 600 euros.

More information about the offers valid until March 31, 2021, can be found on the BenidormResort website.

The new Mirador of Benidorm

The famous and much-photographed viewpoint of Benidorm has been completely renewed. The archaeological excavations are over and the city has given the square a facelift so that the selfie-making visitors can once again enjoy the fantastic view. Picture by Harry Fabel In June 2019, archaeological excavation work was started at the Mirador del Castillo, meaning that it was closed to visitors throughout the summer. A search was done, among other things, for the remains of the old "Castillo de Benidorm" that was destroyed 200 years ago by the British. On the well-known large rock that separates the two beaches stood a fortress that had the function of defending the city against the raids of Algerian and Berber pirates in the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries. Later the Castle was abandoned and nowadays there are only a few remains of walls on the rocks of the lookout point, which is also known as the "Balcony of the Mediterranean Sea".
