Six Monumental Sculptures by Jiménez Deredia Embark on "The Journey of Life" in Benidorm

Take a stroll along the Paseo de Poniente in Benidorm and encounter a unique open-air exhibition: "The Journey of Life" by Costa Rican artist Jorge Enrique Jiménez Deredia. Six monumental sculptures, titled "Charm," "Lullaby," "Refuge," "Consciousness," "Dream," and "Twilight," stand tall, each crafted from either marble or bronze.

This collaboration between the Benidorm City Council and the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències brings the renowned exhibition, previously showcased in cities like Florence, Rome, and Miami, to Benidorm's scenic waterfront. Don't miss this opportunity to experience these impressive works of art until March 2025.

The impressive sculptures, weighing between 6 and 7 tons each, are predominantly black and white and feature spherical elements. As Jiménez Deredia explains, the sphere symbolizes "life, the human being, and the journey we all take, part of the universe's grand story."

Each sculpture features a QR code, allowing visitors to access information about the artwork, the collection, and the artist himself using their smartphones. "It's like having a museum outdoors, free and accessible to everyone while enjoying the beautiful surroundings," says Jiménez Deredia.
