Las Fallas in Benidorm 2026

While Valencia is the world-famous home of Las Fallas, Benidorm offers a unique and more intimate version of this "Festival of Fire." In 2026, the city will once again transform into a vibrant stage of satirical art, thunderous gunpowder, and stunning floral displays.

Where to Find the Fallas

Benidorm is divided into three main festival districts (comisiones). Each builds two monuments—one large satirical structure and one smaller "infantil" version for the kids

 * Falla Benidorm Centro: Located in the Old Town area, usually near Plaza de la Constitución.
 * Falla Els Tolls: Located further inland, near the municipal market and bus station area.
 * Falla Rincón de Loix: Located in the "New Town" area, popular with international tourists.

Must-See Traditions

1. The Mascletà (The "Concert" of Gunpowder) Every day at 14:00, the streets echo with a rhythmic explosion of firecrackers. It is not about the colors in the sky, but the sound and vibration in your chest. The finale is a thunderous "terremoto" (earthquake) of noise.

2. The Flower Offering (Ofrenda) On the afternoon/evening of March 18, thousands of locals dress in stunning 18th-century silk costumes. They carry carnations to Plaza Castelar in the Old Town to decorate a wooden statue of the Virgin.

3. La Cremà (The Burning) On the night of March 19 (St. Joseph’s Day), the party reaches its fiery climax. Starting around 22:30 for the children's statues and midnight for the main ones, the monuments are set on fire. It is a bittersweet moment of destruction that clears the way for a new year.

Pro Tip: March 19th is a regional public holiday. While restaurants and bars will be buzzing, some shops and banks will be closed. Wear comfortable shoes—you’ll be doing a lot of walking between the three main monuments!
